Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration

Pantothenate kinase-associated (PKAN), formerly called Hallervorden–Spatz , is a disease of the brain that can lead to , dystonia, , and ultimately death. Neurodegeneration in PKAN is accompanied by an excess of iron that progressively builds up in the brain.
